The big problem is that Britain has a really good social security system and free health care. Here is roughly what would happen to a mum, dad and two kids who arrived in Britain. If they have decent papers and perhaps come from another E.U country things are easier but..................
They immediately get priority on the local housing lists and would be moved into a two or three bedroom house. The rent and 90% of local taxes are paid for them. they would received a decoration grant and a Grant for bedding, clothing, beds and some furniture. It is not great but you can furnish a house from second hand stores or auction rooms. Charities provide a lot of stuff too. So they have a roof over their heads and somewhere to sit, sleep and make food with. Now working...............
Dad and Mum both sign on and they both get about £65 a week each. The kids are the subject of an allowance until they are 18 yrs old. So family income per week is about £160 Dad is a plumber, joiner or an electrician.
So he starts to do odd jobs for neighbours. He then sees that he can do loads of jobs on a word of mouth basis for cash and still get his benefit and home paid. If he ever gets caught he just says, 'I no understand.'
The kids get free schooling. Free school diners and cash help is given for uniforms. So with them out of the way, Mum can do some cleaning work, take in ironing or knit jumpers. All for cash, of course.
They sign on to a local doctors register and find that it is free. They also find out that if a doctor says that they are unfit for work then they do not have to attend once a fortnight to sign on !! They also discover that if one or other of the parents is 'sick' for six months or more then their weekly benefit rises to about double. The crock of gold is to get an indefinite sick note. That means that you never need to sign on ever again and your rent and taxes are paid forever too!!!
After being declared unfit to work for life. They can move up to Disability Living Allowance which is in three parts regarding general mobility and in three parts for the need of care. So they get assessed and receive more money according to how they are graded. if they get onto this scheme before the age of 40 they are then paid until they are 80 yrs old !!!! Of course rent and local taxes are free. Should your mobility be very bad on the day that you are assessed or re assessed then you can have a new car on a lease basis for three years. A deduction of about £50 per week is taken off the benefit. However the car is fully comprehensively insured, serviced, road taxed and full membership of a recovery service is given too.
These cars are regularly used, illegally, to deliver carry out meals or as taxis or anything else that you can use a car for to make money, in cash.. People have been filmed acting as football referees who have said that they could not walk 30 yards without pain. Some have been in dancing competitions. Recently there was a Brazilian guy on the X Factor who was claiming and he was doing some rather physical moves during his singing act. How he thought that he could get away with being on a very popular national TV show without being recognised is beyond me !! Some have been caught playing cricket and it goes on and on. But the numbers caught are very, very, small as there are not enough investigators. Many play the race card when they are caught and investigators are afraid to start a case against this type of person who will try anything at all. Most caught receive a fine and go straight back onto benefit via a new claim !!!
So this is why many want to come to the UK in a very brief outline. Good here ain't it !!!!
Is it any wonder that foreigners want to come to the UK.?
