This squatting by mainly Eastern European families will have to be sorted out ! You can go out to work and leave a small widow open When you arrive home a family has moved in and changed the locks. it then becomes a civil law action to repossess your own home !!!! These can take months to come up in Court and it only needs one person not to turn up and the case is then adjourned to a future date and on it goes.
This is the position in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Scotland has a different legal system all together and it is much easier just to call the police and have them charged with entering a home without permission.
Squatters in Scotland may only enter open derelict premises. They cannot break in and occupy and the premises must be open to entry.
