Personally I think that X Factor is crap ! It copies almost exactly two shows which were on TV in my youth.
Opportunity Knocks with Hughie Green and Monica "I'll give it five" Rose on BBC. She came from Juke Box Jury and the later show Stars in their Eyes with Norman Vaughan on ITV the Cadbury's Roses Advert man and host of the London Palladium.
They had both copied the Ed Sullivan Show in New York which did a similar format. Cowell has just glitzed them all up a bit for his version of the same crap.
