Militants face threat of anti-strike laws

Militants face threat of anti-strike laws as union boss tell members 'prepare for battle' | Mail Online

There was some talk of an anti demo law recently but that really would not have worked as people would have taken to the streets anyway. Now the view is to ring in anti strike laws instead.
Readers will know that I am not anti Union. If a grievance cannot be sorted out with talks then by all means withdraw labour as a last resort. However I am totally against the threat of strike action at a much later date from when the talks broke down in order to cause the most disruption to the public. The idea being that the public will somehow force the employers hand into giving in to the Union demands to avoid a public backlash.
In some instances a strike can be a good thing for an employer. They don't have to heat a factory, pay wages or national insurance. If there is over production and dead money lying in unsold stock then a strike can allow the sale of this stock. This used to be a big favourite in the car industry. Cause a strike, close the factory and move metal out the door.
So I certainly lean toward no-strike laws for this advance booking system to be illegal.
