China is the real World Super Power now and America realises the fact. China is now a highly efficient, productive Nation with more than a billion people!!
Most of American debt is held by the Chinese and so if China "pulls the chain" and asks for re payment America's only option would be War as they don't have any money to pay the outstanding T Bond debt.
Hence the need for forward bases with and in built fuel store like Iraq and if possibly Iran. With Afghanistan and Treaties/control of the "Stans" China only has a "good" border with Russia in any Sino -US World Conflict and the Russians have learned patience!
Yes, the next fifty years will be ones of posturing, maneuvering and very much like the Wadding ton's game of Risk only it will be for real.
